| I read today that a trackday organized by well known company Hottrax experienced a severe rider injury on one of their recent track days. Naturally the track was closed whilst the severely injured rider was treated and the incident dealt with by the inevitable call to the various authorities. It shocked me to learn that some fellow riders on the day complained at the curtailment of the day and were making loud noises about getting a refund on their fee. Somebody, a fellow rider, even a 'brother' if you like could have been fatally injured and all they were worried about was their £150 quid or whatever. I also read that the organizer instead of expressing concern but still pocketing the money actually gave the days earnings to the local air ambulance charity. We all know trackdays can be dangerous and that the organizers cannot be responsible for incidents that happen on track and we all sign the relevant doc's to this effect where it generally states no monies will be refunded. What's the betting someone takes legal advice about getting their dosh back despite the circumstances. Some people!!!!!!

| The world's going to hell in a handbasket. Look at the scenes of people in the flood-hit areas taking bootloads of water bottles from the deliveries, while some of their neighbours got none. Thirty years ago, this would not have happened - at the very least, the miscreants would have been shamed by all the bystanders into giving it back. No bystander intervened, as far as I could see - they were probably afraid of being abused and insulted, or worse. Top marks to the organisers for a creative and sensitive solution to the "I want my money back" brigade.

| Did they say how the rider was or what happened? Hope he's ok. I really hate it when people can't think for anyone but themselves. I mean, show some compasion! A rider has gone down and is severely hurt and all they can think about is a refund? If the same had happened on the road I reckon they would've stopped. Well done the organisors for supporting the Air Ambulance Service! Am I right in thinking that they don't get government funding and are privately run? Sod those guys who want their money, if they've signed the document, they haven't a leg to stand on.

| On Le Chien Noir's comment about water. I saw the news yesterday and one chap had literally filled his car boot up with vats of water trying to justify it by saying he had a large family to look after. Quite right he was probably helping others who couldn't get out and about themselves. But,The camera panned around and there were a queue of people (families) waiting patiently to fill the odd bottle up. and another thing, why the feck are people vandalising the bowsers? What in Gods name is the point? The Curmudgeon

| They were kids that vandalised the bowsers. Apparently around 14 years old if i can remember correctly. With school being out and absolutely nothing to do it's obvious the little g*** are gunna get bored. We were flooded in Oxford, but luckily the water supplies survived! Did anyone hear what happened with the injured rider? Hope they're ok.
The car in front, is now behind!
