| Whilst meandering home last night on the venerable 9, I saw a bike in the distance, that looked like it was achieving respectable speeds. Funnly colour leathers though. Over the next few minutes I managed to gain some ground on this completely flourescent clad rider on a very late sports bike, he even had a badge on the back of the jacket. I wasn't close enough to read the sigil as he kept darting past traffic. It couldn't be a copper surely, not on what looked like a c model ZX-10R, riding like (well, like I would if I had a C model ZX-10R), the 9 wasn't struggling to keep up in terms of power it was just the weight of traffic. Ahead it cleared and a series of relatively fast bends opened up, I saw flouro man, move out and negotiate the sweepers, his line was classic police training, line of sight, opposite apexing etc for fast road riding. I caught him up at a roundabout. Sure enough the sigil said 'Police' and the helmet was white with chequers around the base. Have Sussex constabulary finally seen the light and scrapped orders for the Pans instead reverting to sports bikes for support patrol and pursuit. I know some forces have pursuit bikes which are Blades etc, Also the NCS have stealth riders to track suspects. Perhaps he was testing the bike out, perhaps it was private transport and he was on the way home after a heavy shift of paperwork and doughnuts. Most unusual! Still he seemed to be enjoying himself, whoever or whatever the scenario.
Sideways through time

| Didn't know the rozzers had Kwak zx10's. I've been to a few shows and other than the classic Pans they have there were a few Blades and scramblers too. Wouldn't try and out run one of those bad boys however... They do them in Silver if I'm not mistaken, instead of the usual white.
Yamaha FZS 600 Fazer ... in gold! Ride safe, and look out for the Rainbow of Death! There're only 3 kinds of people in the world, those who can count, and those that can't. Roses are red, Violets are Blue, I'm a schizophrenic ..... and so am I! Take pity on the man who invented the drawing board, when he screwed up, he had nothing to fall back on. Stuff everything, I've always got my bike.

| I would reckon it was a Plod on his own bike taking the "long way home" like we all sometimes do. When I've spoken to police bikers, I am amazed at how many are total bike nuts, and who ride to the limit when they get the chance. Certainly the copper who took me for the Bikesafe weekend was a fine rider. I had trouble keeping up with him when he just wanted a quick ride back to base in time for tea. If he'd been really going for it, I doubt I could have kept him in sight.

| For the first time in decades, the fate of American foreign aid to Egypt, a total of $1.3 billion annually, hovered over the administration’s deliberations. Because of a new Congressional restriction that requires the State Department to certify that Egypt’s government is committed to democracy.
