That's right Herr Black! Everything written, played, recorded, produced etc etc after December 31st 1973 is crap, as well you know. Oh no, hang on, Take That were actually rather good. They write all their own material you know. Next!

Did you know that Levitation was the first digitally recorded album in the uk ? Or may be the WORLD !!

God I hate rain...., got your GSX 250 ES back on the road yet....oh wasn't I suppose to mention that ? Oh that's right you've got the good people on this site to believe you don't ride anymore which, considering the festering pile of plop that was any bike you've ever owned ever, is tantamount to the same thing ! There, I said it...

PS Blue Poofta Bike is set to join the forum soon and yes, that will be his site name.

What a load of old tosh, most things before '73 were crap (naturally there are a few notable exceptions but to make a sweeping statement like that Reverend is plain wrong).

Look forward to the first post from the marshman

[quote][b]Mr Black (27/02/2007) got your GSX 250 ES back on the road yet.

Yes it is back on the road and I have customised it with a natty set of ape-hangers and a smart King & Queen seat. And I have painted it with creosote. And have added some spokie-dokies. Nice.

Pleased to hear you think my entire collection of two-wheelers was rubbish - your valid contribution to the field of aesthetics only serves to assure me that I am right not to touch a motor-bicycle ever again, since I will surely only make a crass judgement and end up with something rather silly, like an FZ750 or a erm..nope, that was about the only really cred thing I ever owned. The green machine that road hoover talks of above was pretty good though, eh? Who's got the photo of its demise?

Yours sincerely etc

PS Roadhoover - your comments on 1973 music are spoken out of ignorance and can be dismissed. You still a Magnum fan, by the way?

Indeed I still dwell occasionally in a Kingdom of Madness, recorded after 1973 so therefore rather good. I venture that you may be in a minority with your penchant for masturbatory plank twiddling gittar pointlessness. You'll be telling me that Tangerine Dream were good next. Now that would be crossing the Rubicon. It worked for Julias who as we all know was a bit of a trend setter. But I also venture that despite the inherent hegemony contained within the German psyche, their world music domination failed miserably. I'll come clean in admitting to owning an album but only to remind myself never to buy another. Now Rammstein they're a different kettle of fish altogether.

Blinkered sweeping statements from  self proclaimed god fearing men has always caused strife down through the ages.

Glad to hear the GSX has been dragged from the pit, the creosote should stop the original poor finish deteriorating further and mask the smell of burning oil.

Still no news from the marsh.

Dunno! But I do know you are wrong about the Fatherland's contribution to popular music. Have you no ear for Klaus Schulze, Ashra, Can, Neu!, Kraftwerk, Popol Vuh et al? Very important stuff - just ask Julian Cope. Rammstein entertain, I agree, but shouty German metal funsters are but one aspect of our Teutonic cousins' creativity. And don't tell me you never wallowed in Tangerine Dream's electronic mindscapes! Go and get into it. You will be happy you did.

Hang on. Isn't this forum s'posed to be about bikes? I know of a nice little pre-war German rally (Raleigh) that might interest you. hahahahah (courtesy of Denis Pennis, before you ask...but the link was all mine).

Now go and check your mudguards for lurking deposits of darkness - very corrosive.

there's still a plaque in Thomas Pea****e showing Alan Crouch and Mark Chapman as head boys, a lot closer to 73 than we are now. And I've chopped a Z200 so don't talk to me about decent bikes....obviously.

Still a plaque! Blimey, didn't know there ever was such a thing. The esteemed lads are no doubt benefitting from their superior placement in that little microcosm of society. Probably. Who cares?

I once considered buying an original pre-chopped Z200 chop, but couldn't bring myself to do it. I had all these great plans to reverse engineer it (well, stick on some flat bars and a decent seat) back into a street bike, but realised the faintly beating heart of a tacky Jap custom would still be lurking unseen beneath. I couldn't live with that.

So here's the question - what is the most crap bike ever customised by forum folk?
