| OK, so what do you guys think of the magazines? Since I've been back on two, I think I have given most of them a go. I only used to read Bike in my previous biking life - from about 1975 to 1995, approx. Then, it was a bit alternative and edgy (LJK Setright, Mark Williams, Royce Creasey) but it's changed a bit in the years in between. Got middle-aged and a bit boring (but then, so have a lot of us). I'm probably sticking with Bike every month, with Superbikes for the fun stuff (though why do they have to pull funny faces in every picture?) and RiDE for the general all-inclusive vibe. I've not had a good look at the specialist stuff (BSH and the like) as I'm not into the stuff they are. I've tried Fast Bikes and Performance Bike but was not tempted to make it a regular thing. What do the rest of you think?

| It's weird, since I've bought my new bike I haven't read any magazines. I read MCN a bit, TWO, BiKE and the like but tbh, I skip a lot of it and only read the things that interest me. I may as well stand in the shop and read the bits I want to in there.
Yamaha FZS 600 Fazer ... in gold! Ride safe, and look out for the Rainbow of Death! There're only 3 kinds of people in the world, those who can count, and those that can't. Roses are red, Violets are Blue, I'm a schizophrenic ..... and so am I! Take pity on the man who invented the drawing board, when he screwed up, he had nothing to fall back on. Stuff everything, I've always got my bike.

Having just said that, I bought both Ride and Bike last night and I have to say, I enjoyed Ride more. Not sure why but it seemed more entertaining.

| RiDE is doing well in the ABCs as far as I can see. I liked it - unpretentious, but plenty of real-world stuff (used bikes, mechanical stuff, gear reviews), plus they've got a girl on the staff[1], and that always makes things a bit more interesting. FB and PB seem to be 80% about club racing or the WSB/BSB/MotoGP stuff, which, while I like to read about it, gets pretty dull when it's yet another 4-pager about how brilliant James Toseland is. [1] BiKE occasionally has a lady called Liisa Steele, who is, as they say here in Wales, "tidy". They should make more of her, as she is easy on the eye. You can only take so much of yet another GSX1000R with its knee down/front in the air/rear in the air. BTW, anyone else notice this - when the K7 Gixxer came out, the mags were all wetting themselves over how brilliant it was (there was one in my local dealership when I got the Bandit, and it looked awesome). Best bike ever made, and all that. They all seem to be road-testing it again, and are starting to find stuff wrong with it - slow steering, poor fuelling off-idle, and so on - and say they prefer the K3 or K5. I suppose if they don't criticise something, people will say they aren't doing their jobs.

| Sadly, no: it sounds an interesting read. My Dad did a bit of dispatch riding in WW2, on an old Matchless (G20?). It was a great privilege, as from the desert where his unit was based, a bike was the only way to get into Cairo and back for a weekend, and he could grab one at any time. He never told me what he actually did in Cairo, mind, or why he wanted to go there most weekends.

| With a real chance of the Hun blowing your head off on a day to day basis and the opportunity of a free bike and a blast through the desert my guess is he would have speed ran across the sand flat out, dived into a souk on the outskirts sipped some dangerously strong coffee smoked a few hookahs had a nap and then bombed back to his unit in time for Monday Morning manouveres. I mean you would wouldn't you? May I enquire as to the tag line, Did Suzuki manufacture a felching blue Suzuki. Is that a typo?

| Prob a typo!! I personally read Bike, which actually had a free copy of MCN in this month and i have to say that was rather good!! Bike itself is ok too!! I'm always attracted to Superbike, altho i have never bought it coz of the stupid amounts of naked girlies in it!! I guess my partner/brothers wouldn't mind that tho!! Is it any good?, i might just buy one if it is!!

| Anything with semi naked girls featured is good especially d****d over exotic motorcycles. Buy one ignore these pages of profanity and then when you've finished with it pass it on to your brothers who will be greatful that you are a kind and considerate sister with their best interests at heart, they will love you for it and Superbike need the circulation figures. I lit my stove only last week with an MCN - burns well. I find magazines burn with a green flame though which must be the ink or lamination, so won't be doing that again as I am constantly trying to reduce my carbon footprint like a good citizen. Bella soma anyone?

Yeah i guess, but i really don't see the point in paying 4.50 or whatever to only have 4 pages of interesting read!! Maybe i should get my brothers to but them and pass them to me. Then again, i'd rather not, the pages may be stuck!
