Finally, finally, my boss has come back from her holiday and approved mine which I requested two weeks ago.
Some of you know the story already, but briefly - my wife has been quite ill this year and our plans for a tour of France on the Pan have had to be shelved until next year at least. She must have seen my sad face and my little wobbly lip, because she suggested that I went off by myself for a few days (best thing I ever did, marrying that one - no other woman I have ever known would have suggested that). That coincided with an invitation from a crazy biker she knows in Denmark for me to go there and stay on his club's bikes-only campsite and have a tour of the country with a local. So a decision was made, and now I have my Eurotunnel booked and I'm starting to comile a list of things to do and stuff to take.
It will be my first time biking on the other side of the Channel, so I'm ever-so-slightly apprehensive, but full of good thoughts as well. I'll be going in mid-September, so the weather will be iffy, but I can't pass this chance up. I will be writing it up on my blog with lots of pictures, I hope, so if anyone's interested you can follow it there.
First question - leathers and rain suit, or all-weather textile?

| Leathers plus. More versatility, better wind and rain protection with two layers, easier to dry the rain suit than the textiles... ...and you'll look so much cooler when out hand-grenading rival Scandiwegian biker gangs!!!

Didn't mention it, but I also need to lose about half a stone for the leathers to be comfy again

No room. Bike boots, trainers, sandals for if it's hot, har har. 3(t-shirt+undies+socks). Wash and shave kit. A few bits for the bike and - er - that's it. Except it isn't! I believe in travelling light, but the list of 'essentials' just keeps growing.
Endo, for example, suggested soup, and I agree.

SANDLES good lord man anything but those, don't do it to yourself! I saw on the blog you got a trusty Trangia, if you like that you've got to get a jet boil. Mr Wilf brought one earlier this year & he loves it a 1ltr mug of tea in 60 seconds. You can carry it all inside itself & the mug is insulated, good for doing soup too. Dried fruit to keep you going, doesn't take much room but will help if you get a sugar craving.

Light, open footwear, then Yes, I agree sandals sounds a bit pipe-and-slippers, but they pack small and are good for night-time trips to the bushes!
What is this jet boil of which you speak, earthling? Anything like a Kelly kettle? I've always wanted one of those, but they are hellishly expensive for what they are. I intend to carry some form of trail mix - dried fruit, nuts and the like. Great for snax, and can be eaten for any meal if there's nothing else. I don't get sugar cravings, but I do get hungry!

| I didn't know this so I looked it up... "Jetboil Personal Cooking System: Jetboil includes all the elements required for outdoor cooking in a single unit. Burner and cooking cup are integrated into a single package. Assembly and priming are not required." It does go on to say "Boil Time - 2 mins per 2 cups". (But you probably have to drink both of them, otherwise you're in violation of the "Personal" bit!). And, being American: "With the diameter of a Nalgene® bottle and less height, Jetboil stows in places standard cooksets won’t go, like your fanny pack or side pocket". Not that I know how big a Nalgene bottle is or whether you'd want to pack your fanny with one, but if you did, you could fit one of these instead... Probably a very fine product, actually, but not cheap. Might have to agree on the sandals front - not an altogether stylish option. But just about forgiveable as long as they're not flip-flops. Oh, and a digital camera with a really big memory card...we'll need to see pictures!

The sandals are coming with me, no matter what you lot say. I promise not to wear them with socks, however.
I'm torn between taking my own DSLR which has room for >500 1MB images (and as much again on a spare card) or borrowing my wife's Panasonic digital device which is a tenth of the size and still takes extremely good pictures. I think the Panasonic will win this one, on size alone. Pictures will be forthcoming, fear not. You'll be sick of them.
