I've just fitted a set of Gold Fren brake pads to the XT (cheapest on eBay!). Some people have told that they are OK, but a quick Google search finds a lot of folk (all seem to be sportsbike riders) who have some horror stories about them. Anyone here with an opinion to offer?

I wouldn't risk anything cheapo on the Pan (stopping 300 Kg from 120 is not a trivial task), but the XT rarely goes over 60, and the engine braking is so good the brakes are amost an 'extra'. As long as they work reliably, that's all I ask of them. I know there are a few on here who have trade experience. Anyone had them, or have any info?
