I own a '94 Yamaha TDM 850. I've got Continental Road Attacks fore and aft and I want a new set of tyres. Anyone out there with some advise? I use it mainly for commuting along country lanes and through Birmingham with the occasional fun run and a bit of touring. Let me know what's good and what's not.

Cheers,
Tissers.

Hello and welcome.

I run Bridgestone BT020s front and rear on my '00 TDM850, which gets a similar usage to yours, by the sound of it. Good stable tyres, quite hard-wearing and grippy enough all the way to the edges. Thoroughly recommended and presumably not just my opinion as they were fitted by the previous owner. Not the cheapest on the market, but with tyres you usually get what you pay for. To be fair, I am a long-term Bridgestone user and therefore a little biased...I quite like Metzelers as well, don't particularly get on with Pirellis and detest budget tyres of all sorts, but as I haven't tried any of the above with the TDM, I couldn't recommend (or slate) them.

I have BT020s on the Pan, and they are good enough to sc**** the pegs in the dry and are stable and predictable in the wet. I'd have them again.
