| Any of you folks planning to take a trip to the MCN show? Haven't been since it moved from the Ally Pally to the Excel venue, but it always used to be the first proper event of the year... Anyhow, it's the 29th Jan to 1st Feb, so if anyone is going to be there, let us know which day!

Sadly, no. I am working those days, apart from one, which is my wife's birthday. So, not a cat's chance

| Hi endemoniada_88, I will be going along to represent UKB on the Thursday and Friday. Should be a good show. Still being fairly new to the wonderfull biking world I'm pretty much attending them all to get a good overview of them, (and talk to the traders of course.) I will be going to the MCN show, and then to Ally Pally which is scheduled for the 27th/28th feb, and March 1st 09 (see our events pages.) It will be good to visit them both, as I know allot of people said Ally Pally was the better show! If you go up let us know your thoughts, and share them with our fellow users!

| Well, learn something every day - for some reason I was sure the Excel show was instead of one at Ally Pally, not as well as. In that case, a lot of peope are correct - AP is a better venue and it's a nicer (or at least easier) ride to get there: round the M25 and in on the M1. Might not do both - there is a recession on, after all! - so AP might be the one of choice... New to the biking world as in observer, pillion, learner or solo rideress, Binny?

| Hi, Im glad I have taught you something new! I am currently an observer, but as of Friday I will be a learner. Very excited! I will be writing a blog on the site, with pics and videos going live tomorrow. Basically im blogging the learning and test from straight through kit, helmet, CBT, lessons, theory, and test! I will probably also place a forum topic on it, so you all can discuss various areas on the matter. Thats if it proves to be of interest!

Yes, good for you Binny. I look forward to reading all about it. I'm sure it will remind me of the stuff we used to go through in order to get on two wheels. Someone suggested a "my first biking experience" thread recently. Did anything come of it?

| By the way, Binny - you mention your new role at ukbike in your blog: what is that? Are you, by any chance, the new Tom? Good luck with the CBT, if you haven't already done it!

I was dragged up near Ally Pally and it truly is a lovely venue for any show. Used to go up there as a little-un and just look out over London. Sitting on the grassy banks in the sunshine during summer just becouse we could, then down the road to Crouch End to the then open air swimming pool. If I can justify the trip then I shall get to Ally Pally.(Fond memories)
Don't slide unless you mean too.Be sure, ride safe and enjoy
