The misbehaviour of the indicators and warning lights says you have a wiring fault too - something's earthing where it shouldn't. Check all your wires around the headlight area. I suspect that some wires have become pinched or damaged in the crash. Hard to find, but easy to fix when you do.

Good start being lucky with the twisted yokes. Not so great with the brake line, but at least that's replaceable. Roop's right about the speedo cable, but I might look at the top end of the assembly first. Reason for saying that is that the indicator signal lights (not the indicators themselves) share common wiring with the oil warning light in the clocks, which may well be where it's all shorting out. If so it could be the clock unit took a hit, so the speedo problem may also be at the clock end rather than the wheel.

If you haven't already got a service manual for the bike, you could try downloading at http://www.byala.info/xlpjatvzwkksy/gilera/gilera_scooters.pdf. I presume it's legally publsihed there - hey, it's on the internet, so it must be...

Well i'm glad to say my bike is back on the road brake pipe has been replaced, indicator problem seems partially solved...they work, but flash too fast, and they only work when the engine is running but i'm assuming that's because the battery is low (electric start won't work either but kick starts fine). So there's obviously still something weird going on there, also speedo still isn't working despite the cable being taken off and checked/oiled twice, so maybe there's still some faulty wiring in there somewhere. Either that or the cable needs replacing!

But anyway i rode it yesterday, have to say i was a bit nervous at first but soon got used to it again, runs fine, everything else works...so hopefully no more crashes

That's great news, glad to hear you're back in the saddle.

Make sure ALL your indicator bulbs are okay, as a bulb being out will cause the remaining bulbs (on that side) to flash too fast.

Also, check the level of fluid in the battery, as some may have drained out during the crash.

It was the battery i noticed the other day it wasn't charging at all, despite the fluid levels being ok. So we took it to a local garage that sells bike supplies and they tested it and apparently it was busted. So bike now has a new battery and surprise surprise the indicators are back to normal! So the only thing left now is the speedo.

Anyway thanks guys for all your advice and for helping me get my bike working again

Excellent news: take it that the charging system's fine and it was just the battery that died? Easy check - if the headlight brightens when you rev it, then it's charging properly. If it doesn't, best take a look before it kills the new battery!

Good luck getting a speedo sorted and enjoy being back on two wheels.

Hello,
Congrats.... for the bike. You buy a second hand bike but it is good bike. You spend little more money to repair the bike and it give you the service like as a new bike. Best of luck with your new bike.
