Now I'm commuting on the Fazer again I am reminded of how many car drivers, if not catching up on their sleep, are catching up on their phone calls.

Has the threat of 3 points on one licence deterred these idiots? We shall see - but I doubt it. Let's face it, it's easy to see a police car and very easy to lower the phone out of site when they do.

These people make me sick as it puts me at direct risk. What can we do ? I filtered past a chap this morning in slow traffic - he wasn't watching the road as was either texting or looking up a number. As I drew along side I politely beeped the horn and pleasantly gesticulated that he should perhaps be paying more attention to the road but will it prevent him again? No.

In days of old when commuting in London in the summer when car windows are open I'd quite enjoy very load revving next the the offending vehicle but that's a waste of petrol and only make us, not them, look like yobs...

WHAT CAN WE DO?

Good to see you onboard Roger!

I too have queried this. I think the revving of your engine when their talking is a good idea. As long as you have a humungous phat (chavy, but you get the point) exhust, pull up next to them and rev it. They won't be able to talk then. Plus if they have a baby in car, you wake it up! It cries, they get more annoyed and can't talk... they will probably keep driving whilst trying to attend to the baby however.

I did this the otherday. OK, I'm on a 125 but the window was down and his elbow out the window. I pulled up along side and looked at him. I continued looking at him to see if he'd even see me. Well, he hadn't! He indicated to go right, straight into me, without looking right or anything. Too busy on his mobile. So I hit the horn (bearing in mind I'm right next to him now, so close I could reach out and touch his wing mirror) he jumped out of his skin, dropped the mobile onto the road, and looked visably shaken up. "Yeah, f**k you" I thought. Gave him the time old fashioned gesture of appreciation and went on my way.

Yamaha FZS 600 Fazer ... in gold!

Ride safe, and look out for the Rainbow of Death!

There're only 3 kinds of people in the world, those who can count, and those that can't.

Roses are red, Violets are Blue, I'm a schizophrenic ..... and so am I!

Take pity on the man who invented the drawing board, when he screwed up, he had nothing to fall back on.

Stuff everything, I've always got my bike.
