| So, how are we all!? Ok, the reason for me going AWOL wasn't really anything to do with Space Monkeys... and interesting and fun as it sounds. The real reason is a complete life change. As some of you know, I walked outta my previous job due to cercumstances I probably can't go in to (but if your at Brightona I'll tells ya all about it!) so I was unemployed and needed a job. I was out of work for a month before I found my current job in Lewes doing Email campaigns. It's going well, nice buch of guys here an it keeps my HTML, SQL and all manner of other coding things in check. More importantly than that... I now have a girlfriend!! Yes, as unbelievable asa it sounds, I have an 'other half' so I've been spending quite a bit of my spare time with her. Going down the Black Rabbit, random rides to nowhere. Slowly getting her into biking and she's loving every second of it! A biker chick, yeah! I still have the Fazer. After drooling so much over the Z750 you'd've thought I'd gotten one by now! On that note, the Fazer took a tumble the other day. Fortunately I wasn't on it but my nieghbour decided to back her car into it! Lost the right front peg and 'Bunny Ear' mirror support under the fairing. Surprisingly the fairing survived. As did the Can, indicators and brake levers. Dad has the exact same bike as me so i've nabbed a few parts off his to keep me going. I think the steering is out of line though. Only slightly but you can generally tell if you ride it everyday. Either that Or I'm being paranoid! So, that's my life at the mo. Holiday at the end of this week to Turkey with my mates and their parents so that should be a blast too! again, sorry for not being here for ages but I haven't really had the time.
Yamaha FZS 600 Fazer ... in gold! Ride safe, and look out for the Rainbow of Death! There're only 3 kinds of people in the world, those who can count, and those that can't. Roses are red, Violets are Blue, I'm a schizophrenic ..... and so am I! Take pity on the man who invented the drawing board, when he screwed up, he had nothing to fall back on. Stuff everything, I've always got my bike.

| Hello Mazzer. Been busy then. Reb I'm sorry to hear about your mother, it's not easy losing someone close, so here's wishing you goodluck for the future mate, it's about time the luck was shared around a bit more to people who need a break from the intensity, uncertainty and heartbreak of modern life. be good.
Sideways through time

| Well said, Hoov - just like to add my condolences, rebelman. Hope it all turns around: everybody deserves some good karma from time to time. I'm a little disappointed the mutant Space Monkeys story wasn't true, though. Sounded like - well, sounded like there were some top drugs floating around the vicinity...still, a new job and wench can have much the same effect! Hope your neighbour's paying for some "good as new" repairs, though, Mazz.

| You betchya Endo. she was in floods of tears when I raced out there so I kinda felt a little sorry for her........... but then I saw my bike on the floor and felt more sorry for the bike! (That's got to be a biker thing... care more about the bike than your own injuries or the person who caused the accident!) Rebs, my condolenses (no idea how to spell it!) It's never nice to hear that.

| How very true. It's something a lot of non-bikers don't seem to understand, remembering all the baffled faces at work when I was limping about on a quite badly battered knee and hip after throwing my RF900 up the road. I thought the response: "Never mind my ****ing leg, that'll heal on it's own - look at the state of my bike!" was a perfectly reasonable one, but I did seem to be in a minority of one. If you're lucky (and your neighbour, too), it might just be the forks have twisted slightly in the braces, rather than a bent frame or anything. But it's always horrible when a bike hits the deck, even when it gets away pretty much unscathed.

| Turns out the "bunny Ear" was fine. Whilst I was away on me hols dad had a look at it. all the spare parts came through so he threw it all back together for me. upon removing the ear he noticed it wasn't bent at all, in fact the frame work on the fairing was slightly twisted. A quick pull and it was back in position again without any stress fractures (thankfully!) As for the streeing, I'm starting to believe that the yoke and forks are fine. As the bike landed right side down I think the fairing has taken a knock, pushing it left. it may seem that the forks are out of line but it could be the fairing facing off centre causing an illusion. I've checked on Dads Fazer and it would seem that the speedos are further right than mine ar now so I'm guessing (and hoping) that that's it.

| Good holiday, then, Mazz? Nice of your dad to do the spannering for you, but presumably he wanted the bits back for his own bike...! You can carry out a fairly simple wheel alignment test with a couple of long bits of straight timber or string and a willing helper or two. Helps to have a paddock stand, too! Run the straightedges as high up as possible to get it parallel across the largest available width of the rear wheel. The front wheel should have an equal gap either side to the straightedges and be parallel to both:
You also get a bent appearance if your chain is horribly misadjusted or on bikes with a deliberate offset (usually shaft or belt-drives, as it happens, or ones modified for sidecars). Only takes a couple of minutes but it should give you an idea whether you need to investigate further. Probably worth a check, anyway.
