Having to commute to work these days in all weathers (back to the halcyon days of my youth) I have been very impressed with my Ixon 'Revolt' jacket. I've had it for over a year but never really had to test it out in anger until recently. For a really modest priced jacket it's fantastic, light, warm and so far 100% waterproof. Nice one IXON will certainly check the range when I need to replace kit.

| Having just been riding seeminly underwater and been battered by silver bullets from heaven I would like to add to the jacket comment I posted. Isn't Gore-tex ****ing great stuff. It may cost more than the generic products out there but it does work amazingly well. My gloves and boots both have this wonder membrane inside and both sets of extremities were warm and dry. Amazin'

Roadhoover, Just want to say thank you for recommending the Alpinestar boots at the NEC. Goretex Innerlined so its warm and dry in winter, but breathable in summer. Very comfy too, even with thin socks on underneth. Finally gotten used to the new gear lever position and the feel of the rear brake too. Alpinestar, 5 stars from me!

| Sidi Black Rains - dunno if they still do them, but never leaked a bit. Even when I spilt some water on them whilst drinking a bit of Evian down at Box Hill on a sunny Sunday. Joking aside - well tested, and good kit. Zimodile Dunweird.

Very pleased to hear that, as I bought a pair this week - Sidi Black Rain Evo. Worn for 12 miles, no problems so far ...

| Lady P - if we start a thread called "Dangerous Substances", would that make you happy? Or didn't you mean that kind of gear?

On the subject of gear... shoei XR1000 .... beautiful! Finally got used to the breeziness of it, but with summer rolling on nicely it's quite refreshing.

Black Dog (16/02/2007)
Lady P - if we start a thread called "Dangerous Substances", would that make you happy? Or didn't you mean that kind of gear? Just escaped from the kitchen sink to put in a reply... now your suggestion would be great, Phoned Frank the other day to see if I was paying too much for my dangerous substance (that is to be honest not that dangerous or not a substance) but Frank wasnt so happy.... I dont drink beer but I lurvvvee me fags.... Well done BD for not smoking good luck, hopefully I will be trying to give up myself when this law about smoking in public places is enforced but we shall see....As for taking you to dark places.... Now now young man I am old enough to be your mother....
