| Not working at all, or the starter trying but not turning the engine? If the button is 100% dead (not even a click from down below) then you have a duff switch, or a break in the circuit somewhere. If you can use a circuit tester, check continuity starting with the button and working down until you get to the oily bits. The button would be my bet - it's exposed to the weather more than any other part of the circuit. One test would be to remove the grip from the bike, find the wires that feed the starter button, and bridge between them with the ignition on. If it starts, there's your answer.
