Oh! and sorry for the delay in answering.
I check the site every morning, but work has taken over big time and I have been away in France on holiday for a couple of weeks and refused to look at a computer, as now I spend at least 9 hours a day with my face in one, the only thing that keeps me sane is riding home the long way on my Bob (soon to be a Fatboy, just like me, but I prefer to be called stocky, but then a Harley-Davidson short stocky boy doesn't have quite the same ring does it)

well worth the effort to stop grinding my nut under the exhaust.

I've heard of getting your knee down, but this is a bit extreme, surely?

I rather like the idea of personally-descriptive cruiser names though - I mean, who wouldn't want a Harley-Davidson Skinny Middle-Aged Bloke? Well, stout people, I suppose, and anyone with a peanut tank too small for the logo, but other than that it could be a marketplace winner...

Was given the loan of a Triumph Speedmaster Tuesday when the RS went in for it's repair to it's speedo gear. Had to keep it till Wednesday afternoon and when I rode it back it was pouring down. I rekon this bike should be called "Nuts wet when raining". The tank aims water at your nuts when it's raining and if you thought as I did your waterproofs really did work your proved wrong as the force of the wind works with the rain to make sure they let the wet through. I thought I did not like the exhaust note as it is so loud but I did blip it a lot more than I do the RS. Ah yes the other thing that is strange for a semi sport bike rider is the footrests being forward like that, how do you stick your boot under the gear change?  Not sure I could ride a Harley in that laid back position like the Speedmasters but do know why the gear lever has two ends to it on a Harley now Mazz, saves trying to contort your foot to change up!

Don't slide unless you mean too.

Be sure, ride safe and enjoy

Ok folks, the firs of many replies to this thread.
Rode the new beast home yesterday, she now has 12 miles on the clock, 6 from the road test and 6 from me.
First impressions are ............................................................
I LOVE IT.
Gear change is sooooo much smoother and so is the ride, and as for the ground clearance I tackled a couple of roundabouts with not one grounding and I did lean well into them just to see if Roadhoover was right.
I'm only 15 stone so I may be a bit light for a Harley rider, LOL
I will try and get a couple of photos on my website today or tomorrow and post a link to them

Same as the one I had, or have you got a brand new euro spec model with increased ground clearance?

I kid you not, the bloody thing was grinding it's boards everywhere and you must have posh smooth roads over there good buddy because the mild lumps in these here roads really showed up the very basic suspension, and I earnestly promise you I was riding it it in the style it should have been, (i.e not my usual style).

Liked it more for what it represented rather than the 'performance' value. Harl3ey are masters of this lifestyle brand buy in.

You appear to eschew all that tassel in the wind stuff, so what makes a Harley special to you? makes you choose one over a Duke or a Jap bike for instance. (I won't believe you if you say its the performance)

No not the performance, to me it says you have arrived at where you were looking for.
It doesn't mind being called a fat boy because you can't insult it, it doesn't care.
It has a certain feel, you don't want to race it, the bike takes you for a ride.
I know its not a Kawasaki "Ninja", Ducati "Monster", KTM "Adventure", Honda "Fire blade" or a Yamaha "V-Max".
Its a FATBOY say no more.

It must be Euro spec as i only have about 3/4 of an inch left to go before I am at the edge of the tyre on bends.
And last of all, This bike is a head turner, I pulled up at the harbour on Sunday and a group of girls, in very short dresses on a hen do, wanted to sit on it and have their photos taken on the bike, I was the perfect gent and helped them on and off. (wish I had taken my camera with me on that ride)

Morning mate,

you're right on the lady appeal, you certainly don't get the same attention on a sports bike.
