| I've visited a friend who's moved to Mallorcaa couple of weeks ago. Georgeous area lovely people & my Spanish has been comming on a treat. God I wish I was there right now rather than sitting in the office while it chucks it down by the bucketload. At least I'll be getting wet on the way home

I don't mind the wet, or even the cold. It's the slippery roads and idiot drivers that I hate.

| Seconded! Although the roads are OK at the moment here - there's been enough rain to wash all the surface grime away. No shortage of idiot drivers, though... Apart from that, I do like riding at this time of year. In many respects it's just as satisfying to dial in to the adverse conditions as it is to get some reckless thrashing done in the dry, I reckon.

Agreed. I really don't mind riding at this time of year. People at work think I am crazy and assume the car is broken, and when I tell them that I am warm and dry and enjoying the ride, they shuffle away looking sideways. The main roads here are clear and clean (mostly) but there's a lot of cr*p on the sides, especially the minor roads, of mud and wet leaves. Lethal, if you're not paying attention.
Your point about dialling into the conditions is a good one. This is the time of year to keep your skill levels up, and not let them go rusty over the winter. Really cold (0 or below), foggy or high winds, and I will probably take the car - otherwise, it's two wheels all the way.
