I live in Tunbridge Wells so am pretty central but I like to ride down to Eastbourne (A22) via Crowborough, Stop and have a cuppa/fag on Eastbourne seafront, then ride on to Bexhill and then Hastings. Toilet break/fag break is optional here before riding back home via A21 in time for breakfast with the wife and kids.

Any thoughts on your routes, how I could add even more excitment to my route???  All suggestions will of course be overlooked unless your route is a blinder!!!!!!!

Hastings to Rye via Winchelsea, along Military canal, up through Stone to Wittersham, Wittersham to Hawkhurst, to Goudhurst, cut down Bedgebury Pinetum onto A21 across the cross roads down south A21, turn off onto North Trade Road to Battle, back to Hastings. Or given a full tank and time to waste, instead of going to Battle, turn right towards Ashburnham, out onto Boreham Street to Hailsham, along the Dicker and turn right at Golden Cross towards Laughton. What a cracking stretch of road that is!, turn Right at Ringmer and back to Heathfield and then back to Battle and |Hastings.

Do it very rarely these days, but a good jaunt.

Rode the Blado down the Laughton Road, up through Herons Ghyll, Etchingham  and out at Hurst Green back down the 'Snail Trail' A21.

To be honest DIY commitments to a crumbling 200 year old cottage, fuel poverty and a demanding family tend to put the mockers on most of my riding these days. Looking forward to hopefully riding a ZX-10 back from Worthing tomorrow though. (just to keep the old hand in).

Short route: A27 to Shoreham, A283 to Storrington, through Amberly to Bury for coffee at Whiteways, then back through Arundel and Ford, A259 back towards Worthing. You need to be a bit lucky with the traffic, though (favoured late at night, minus the stop for coffee).

Longer route: either A27/273 or A24 to join the A272, then West, cut back South into Chichester or carry on to Petersfield then South. Either way back East along the A27 or A259. Can be better in reverse - the A272's the fun bit.

Hastings to Hawkhurst, cup of Rosie at a friends house, nipped up to Flimwell, down the 21 into the Battle chippie and back home. 9.30 in the evening came across two cars going in my direction on the way back. I thought I was dreaming, two cars in about twenty miles, when has that ever happened before?

Bunked off work today, so got to ride about a bit in the bright sunshine. Reverse short route, about 60 miles, then got hacked off with all the traffic and went home.

Somebody stacked their bike into a truck on the Long Furlong the other morning (hurt, but not fatally) and they had to resurface after the truck dumped 300 litres of diesel down the road. It's quite a nice corner now, fairly sharp but real fast and grippy! Hope the bloke recovers, anyway.

I know that Long Furlong road, I also know a couple of people with a limp because of it, still get it right and it's a buzz.

The Great Ocean Road, Australia.

It has to be one of the most beautiful, twisty and scenic routes I've ever driven. Did it last year with my friend in her car, but wished so much that I was on a bike... so much so I'm going back out there just to ride it.

Image a tall rocky cliff face to your right, shrubbery and palm trees lining a flat, bendy and excellently maintained road, a small incline to your left that leads to the sun kissed sands of the beach then pure and crystal clear blue waters. Sun glaring down, clear blue sky and all the bikini clad ladies you could ever wish for!!!

As for the riding, that road is as twisty as the Thames in the opening sequence to Eastenders, but constantly twisting, interspersed with long straights so you can take in the magnificent views. It'll take you two/three days to ride it because you'll want to stop at the little towns to paddle in the water and enjoy it.

The best road coupled with the best holiday destination and best weather... what more can a biker want!!

Yamaha FZS 600 Fazer ... in gold!

Ride safe, and look out for the Rainbow of Death!

There're only 3 kinds of people in the world, those who can count, and those that can't.

Roses are red, Violets are Blue, I'm a schizophrenic ..... and so am I!

Take pity on the man who invented the drawing board, when he screwed up, he had nothing to fall back on.

Stuff everything, I've always got my bike.
