| Keep an eye out, won't be long. .........''It wouldn’t look out of place in the scorching badlands heat of Mexico, land of Zapata moustaches, chewing tobacco, tequila and aged cactus, but it does I fear look out of place on a cold winters day in Sussex as it thuds through the early morning dreariness and cold. Speckled orange sodium spots lining the foothills of the Downs and commuter traffic hobbling the large lumpy motor’s big bore potential. Pale faced rider, clean shaven, skirting Eastbourne deeply imbedded in the burgeoning 21st century fog and drizzle......''

Funny, I thought Jack Kerouac had died in 1969.

BD, you flatter me if a few words of mine remind you of Kerouac. Definitely not worthy however Its fair to say I feel like I've been born out of time. Vaguely remember trying to read The Subterraneans years ago, struggle with Jazz and gave up writing my rubbish poetry years ago. Was he a merry Prankster? or was that Burroughs? Gonna have to re-visit my old paperback stash now, you wicked man. I'll put you down to receive a copy of my book when I vanity publish it. It's alot easier listrening to Jim Morrison. 'Words assemble words are quick, words resemble walking sticks' (or summat like that) Aspire more to HST (though again definitely not worthy).

I've never read all of "On The Road", and I can't get into most jazz, and I'm a bit unsure even of the great HST (after reading what Sonny Barger had to say about him). But I used to be into Burroughs big style - I got sent home from school one day for having a copy of The Naked Lunch in my school bag. Also Aldous Huxley - The Doors To Perception and Heaven and Hell.
Yes, I'll have to rummage around in the old book stash too. But if we're honest, there was an AWFUL lot of ******** written in the 60s and 70s.

| Never heard of them damnit. I was a sickly child living in the middle of nowhere until discovering the freedom of motorcycles, so had a lot of time to fill, mainly reading books and listening to music. The text generation probably don't know what a book is. BD is right there was a lot of rubbish written then. Sorry went off on a tangent but always good to discourse with similar book minded individuals, especially biker literature etc. Reb, the bike in question is a Harley Davidson, write up complete, and video hot off the press. Will be posting it all up by the end of the week with any luck. Will let you know when.

Hey RH I did not mean to sound dum or il-literate but I was into swiming in my younger days and was dragged up in Holloway in London to the age of 16 and then discovered girls and Mopeds and the only biker reading to be taken seriously was Ogri. That only started when I reached 17 and by then had moved with my parents to the leafy suberb known as Mill Hill LOL. Thank god I live in a village now!
