OK, fine, hadn't thought of that!

Bahh, I rode most of last week in a flippin' frost white out, I got into work and thought I'd make a hot beverage, stuck my hands under the tap to sluice the previous days slime and dregs from the cup only to realise that my hands had lost conciousness and the hot water brought about hideous burning pins and needles, it did get rid of the purplish patchs on the end of my fingers though, I daredn't have a shower, God knows how other parts of my body may have reacted dreadfully to the inrush of warmth.

Having said that I've had my yearly shower.

Congratulations! You must be like Queen Elizabeth I, who had a bath twice a year, whether she needed one or not.

I used to play guitar in a band, and if the venue was cold sometimes the only way I could get my hands into a state I could play the guitar with was to plunge them into warm water. Agony sometimes. That said, I rarely have cold hands, and hardly ever wear gloves off the bike. I put this down to excellent circulation, developed over years of riding bikes in winter with inadequate hand protection.

Cannot believe I have fallen over again in a parking lane this time! Well a small road with parking bays both sides. Stopped to see where I wanted to leave the bike and did not realise that the road dramaticly sloped away to the right so went to afix the right leg to the floor and it was not there!

Another right footpeg but this time it has to go with a gear lever which bent and so did the break lever. Just felt sooooooo stupid. I think I need a longer set of legs. Obviously 28 insiders just don't do motorbikes that easy. Still it does mean another trip to Pure Triumph in Wellingborough. Need to get the lower panel fixed too. Does anyone know of a good glass-fibre fixer in the MK area?

Don't slide unless you mean too.

Be sure, ride safe and enjoy

I meant brake lever and rear foot peddle brake lever not gear!

I don't know if Triumph have a part number for longer legs :-)

You could look into getting a lower seat though - lots of places do them.

Bad luck.  At least you didn't make my most stupid "back to biking" mistake.  I found a parking space for the 1200 Bandit on a steep street in town, and parked - you guessed it - pointing downhill, towards the kerb and close to the car in front.  When I came back to the bike, I couldn't move it.  No reverse gear, see?  I did get it out in the end, but I had quite a sweat on by the time I had finished.  And I nearly lost it about six times.

Cheers BD. Was telling a bloke at the hotel and he was saying that last weekend he went on a trackday and was getting his Blackbird off its trailer and he was on the right hand side and it went to the left without warning and he ended up laying on it! Made me feel a little better as he was a six footer and built like the proverbial brick outhouse. He said it just shows that if it's gonna go it's gonna go! LOL

Unlucky with that, but it does happen. I think Eddie Lawson was responsible for the quote and accompanying shrug: "They've got two wheels, sometimes they fall down." Doesn't really matter how hefty you are once the weight's gone past the point of no return: and everybody drops one at some point.

The good thing about low-speed or stationary tumbles is they're usually cheaper, if a little more embarrassing. Last one* I managed was at work, parked up in the sheds, kicked the side-stand down and put the bike over on it. Except the stand hadn't locked all the way down, so it folded up and the bike went on going. Fortunately my leg stopped it from hitting the deck hard (even if my elbow did, annoyingly, snap the screen). Unfortunately, in a confined space that's a tricky kind of position to work your way out of, especially with hot metal in contact with some of your favourite body parts...good fun for spectators, though.

Crash bungs for fully-faired, engine bars for half- or naked, absolutely swear by them. And, amazingly, they're the sort of things that you never seem to need AFTER you've got them fitted!

* Of several, over the years. Not that I try to make a habit of it and sometimes even go through several bikes without dropping any of them!

I like that, and I am sure I will use it. :-)

As the guy who fitted a full ARC-spec roll cage to my mate's Land Rover said, "That's the only time you'll spend 400 quid and hope you've wasted your money" :-)

Back to biking...Picking up a Moto Morini Corsaro for the weekend, they've been out of the game for donkey's years until recently. Any owners out there got any feedback.

Say the words Moto Morini to most bikers and they'll say who? Or recount the glory days of the 3 1/2 Sport.

As good as an MV Brutale, Benelli TNT, jap street bike, Ducati Monster, KTM Duke.....?
