I've done what I promised myself and bought a new helmet for winter duties.  It's a Shoei XR1000 and I like it.  I got it off eBay at roughly half the price of a new one, as it is in last year's graphics and is obviously old stock.

It has a Pinlock on the visor for anti-misting duties.  This actually works.

Pinlocks rock a big one.

Welcome to the Shoei family BD.

Come on then... what colour and what pattern is it?  I've got the XR1000 too in Red, White and Black with an Aztec sort of look on the sides.

Helmet City, I think - yes, it was £179 plus postage.  New ones are around £330.

It's a black/grey pattern called "Voltage".  I think it's quite nice.  I googled a few suppliers, and it was definitely last year's deign.  The only problem I have had is that I peeled off the film protecting the visor and most of the hard coating came with it!  I now have a slight zigzag pattern in front of me.  I shall have to get a new visor, I think - still a bargain, even after that.
