Bike scam alert

I recently discovered whilst looking at an add on hear for a 06 GSX 1400 in Derby ! for the sum of £2200 !to good to be true I know, all correspondence was through email and no contact numbers were given, next thing im getting messege asking to deposit money into a western union individual account, and then bike and paper work would be shipped to me lol hmmm a little suspect, so I ran a hpi check on the plate this all checked out fine ! but I then rang the firm who did the hpi check trying to get a name and addy for the so called seller, cant do they say but they made me aware of this scam selling really good deals for a to good to be true cost so I thought I would post so people will think twice with these jokers, apparently there is a R1 going about too , be ware ! anyone else nearly been had, would love to here !

New to UKBike and biking in General!

Hi,

I would like to know how to go about doing a bike test as i have just passed my car test and would like to know move on to learning how to ride a bike. I have driven a few motorbikes before but only off road. How would I go about learning/having lessons?

Hi all

It looks as though the forum is dying. No-one is posting there any more, except for a couple of old stagers, and there has been no involvement from the owners at all for several months, despite all the promises.

In view of this, I have set up another forum for ex-UKBike members. It uses phpBB software, so it is much faster and more user-friendly than the clunky UKBike site. The forum's philosophy will be the same - good-natured banter, help and advice, perhaps meet up for an event. I only set it up yesterday, so there is very little content - that will have to come from the forum members. If enough people go there, like it, and post stuff, it will reach critical mass and perhaps take off. If not, well, it was worth a try. Endo and I are already over there, sweeping the fagbutts off the floor, polishing the glasses and lining up the drinks. All are welcome.

NO to the Westminster bike parking tax!

The bike parking tax introduced last year by Westminster Council was met with outcry by bikers all over the UK, and efforts have been stepped up online and in London to overturn the charge.

On February 18th, Westminster Council will enter a brief consultation period before deciding whether to make the tax permanent. Following the successful slow-ride demonstrations towards the end of last year, the campaign group NoToBikeParkingTax.com are holding another demo on January 15th - more details here.

You can also sign the petition on the Number 10 website here.

There will also be another demo on February 1st at the Ace Cafe in Wembley.

A belated happy new year to all forumers. Some of you may have noticed that our home page looks slightly different as of this morning. We've finally gone live with a new design that has been in the tweaking stages for a while. There's now more emphasis on blogs and news, and we will also be launching our latest competition any day now...

Since the 'free t-shirt for a review' offer ended at the end of October, we are now launching the UKBike Review Of The Month contest! January's prize is an OGK helmet retailing at £150, it could be yours if you submit a bike review that we happen to think is the best of the month. Get writing!

With the new design has come a few teething issues, so if you are having problems logging in to your account on the main site, then please sit tight as normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

This place has been quiet over the last few days - just Endo's occasional late night musings to relieve the gloom. I missed coming here on Christmas Day due to an edict to "stay away from that bloody computer!", so may I be the first to wish all posters a Merry Boxing Day and a Happy New Year. FZR600 fox eye

hello all .. FZR600 fox eye (94) (95) i recently had a close call with a phesant on an A road whitch to my delight only smashed 1 fairing but i cannot find a replacement anywhere ,iv phoned all over the country and it seems the breakers only seem to have the blackie orange,or the ****tail colour scheme , the base colour of mine is white with red and purple flashes with the letters FZR in red and yellow i need the right hand side pannel so if any1 out there has this part kicking around or knows of any1 who could have this part plz let me know thanx all.
