I am looking to buy a second hand top box to fit my sprints triumph rack. I would have paid the money to have a triumph one but they don't do the racing green to match the bike anymore or the box cos the machines are worn out or something like that the guy's at Pure Triumph in Wellingborough told me. So the options are a new style Triumph box costing fortunes or a second hand one that will fit my rack. Just looking to store my lid and clothes when stopped for any length of time. Any ideas peeps?

My Givi top box

On the recommencement of a daily commute I decided to to a rack and top box fitted to the Fazer.

Yup I know, about as cool as a Porsche 911 towing a caravan... but hey, in go shoes, trousers and the all important lunch box, as well as always being able to carry spare socks, neck warmer and thermal layer etc.

The other half loves it as she's no longer paranoid about falling off the stern, and when not commuting it's a great place to store the lid and gloves and then fill up with a bit of shopping. And, when not needed, the Givi mono-lock system means a quarter turn of the key, push a button and it's off.

So I've not quite reached the age where cardigans and slippers seem necessary, but perhaps I'm getting there. But, I don't care.

Keep safe ;0

ps - oh, and it's a useful place to put the UK Bike sticker!

Fluffy ears - insidious degradation of biker status in the eyes of the general public?

Come on folks - stand up and be counted.

Zimodile Dunweird.

Forum Terrorist.

Paging Mazz ...

You mentioned mirror extenders when we last spoke, and I said I had got some for the B12.

This was the site:

<a href="http://www.motorcycle-road-and-race.co.uk/catalog/motorcycle-sw-motech-mirror-extensions.php" target=_"blank" class="SmlLinks">http://www.motorcycle-road-and-race.co.uk/catalog/motorcycle-sw-motech-mirror-extensions.php

I'm sure you would find something for the Fazer there. When you have done this, don't forget to set the flow setting back to what it was before, otherwise you will dump half a litre of dirty chain oil all over the back of the bike, and anything else that happens to be in the vicinity of the back of the bike.

Especially, do not do this when your passenger is wearing her brand-new textile jacket. Even more, do not do this if the jacket is PINK. And try to stop before the oil gets onto the rear tyre, as passengers rarely appreciate going sideways out of corners in the manner of Valentino Rossi.

Chain oil is impossible to remove from Cordura, even after a whole afternoon spent with Fairy Liquid, Vanish and a small nail brush. New jackets are expensive.

This has been a Public Service Announcement.

would it be possible to purches the headlights and the front part for this ER-6n

sup people first topc of post i am just going to purches a ER-6n and i saw a pic of this one and i love the way the front of the bike looks more evil and i was wondering wot the headlights where called and the front fareing so i might be able to purches them

all comments would be great thanx

Most useless accessory

Here's my vote for starters: Years ago some bright spark decided that it would be a great idea if the functional simplicity of the car's windscreen wiper could be transferred to the biking market. The answer, it seems, was to invent the V-Wipe (if my memory serves me right, which it often does not).

This was a rubberised wiper-blade product that would slide over your gloved index finger of choice and, in rainy or foggy situations, would simply be brought to bear on the rider's visor with a swift left to right swipe and hey presto! vision was restored.

Except it wasn't. It smeared, it failed to remove the majority of water (unless you could master the technique of applying a flat surface to a convex lens), it needed application roughly on a par with the two-second cycle of the car-equivalent in heavy rain. It was crap. Turning your head from side to side however seemed to produce results.

Getting the thumbs up, however, is this: A small bit of flat wood. Nice. To have and to hold such an item is truly beneficial. Stuff it under your side-stand on hot days. Light, easy to replace, and probably free. No doubt your local dealership will sell you the carbon-fibre nano-technology derived modern consumerist society branded equivalent for a shed-load of cash. But like the kids from Grange Hill, just say no.

And you? Where do you cast your vote, Mr and Ms Modern Motorcyclist?
