Its a bit of a run for me too, I am in Peterboghorror but if you are about would be nice to catch up... Not sure about the s/moto nights but will keep my eyes open on the Ace website for more info....

Easy there Lady P, just saying what I thought there, not a personal attack, lets all get along I say, bikes is a good common interest to start with and good friendships can follow, I have made some good mates on XT660.com and probably could on here too.

ajt660 it quite clearly states on there that I got the information 2nd hand, if you have a problem don't come onto another forum doing your dirty washing send me a pm on yam xt. I have also got an msn conversation from the persons involved and he quite clearly states that he has got a problem with his bike. Now this will be an end to it. Not on this forum its nothing to do with the members here and I would like to keep it that way....

I am signed up to both too, have not been on Yam-xt much, saw a thread on there rubbishing someones exhausts and saying that all sorts of mechanical and electrical mayhem had ensued, turned out to be a work of fiction!! Not what you want to see on a site offering technical advice!! Agree with you though we should all get along, and not take ourselves too seriously.

I'm signed up to both, and I reckon www.yam-xt.com is friendlier. It's a smaller forum and obviously the range of members isn't as wide, but equally there are fewer idiots as well. I don't go on the internet to argue with clowns - I get enough of that at work and home.

There's a bit of "history" between the owners of the two sites, but you don't have to choose - you can enjoy the better bits of both. Personally, I find yam-xt more to my taste, and I've had some very good tech advice there too.

You could also try www.xt660.com. Been on there a while now, a right good laugh too, plenty of humour and banter, but loads and loads of tech knowledge too, well worth a look if you have or are considering an xt660 x or r.

Since I've been contemplating getting an XT, I have been reading a lot of forums on the interwebthing. The best I've found so far is www.yam-xt.com. It's friendly and informal, with a lot of contributors from all over the world. It's a one-make forum (Yamaha XT660X and XT660R, the current supermoto and enduro machines from the old tuning fork company) but there's plenty of discussion on all matters related to UK biking, a section for jokes and humour, and a lot of very good technical advice. Well worth a visit.

I think I am the only UKBike member on there at the moment, so if anyone wishes to join me, I'd appreciate the company!
