They mentioned that men from Wales were thought to be the better within the UK. You came in late! What a great journey and it bought a tear to my eye when Geoff talked about why he took his mother and fathers ashes with him. Just have so much admiration for anybody who has the courage and can find the time to just go do it. Sure they organised a few things before they went but nothing grand and certainly no back up truck! Some of the people they met were just doing it on thier own including a girl on an old 250 suzuki.

As an asides if you have not been to the UKbike blog recently it's worth a visit as it confirms my suspitions about us motorbiking blokes! LOL Go see Lady P and Emma and all you other girls and then come back to me if you need any conformation. Must admit I give him 10 out of 10 for having a laugh doing it. Rekon that must be the easiest place on the planet to kill yourself on a bike. I am still looking for a sponsor to pay for my film of North Canada to south Mexico? Any takers?

RE: Where not to Tour!

See on the box late night watchers can see "Wright accross America" Ian Wright the footballer has taken a leaf out of a couple of actors books and got someone to pay for a great trip for him from Florida to California on a Harley!

OK so who would like to go with Rebelman's trip through Canada and down the California coastline from top to Mexico and possibly through Mexico down to the far south. Ah should I ask if there are any sponsers out there 1st? (Promise I will chat about whats going on around me constantly and you can film me enjoying your money.)

RE: Where not to Tour!

Sounds rather like Liverpool, except the Sri Lankans probably own their bikes!

One of my ex-girlfriends does bike tours of far-flung places for her holidays - Goa, China, New Zealand. Apparently you get equal measures of lots of fun and absolute terror: she books up with local firms and goes with a group of riders, takes a few days to get into the swing of the local traffic customs and goes with the flow. Think I'd prefer to stick to places where they have tarmac, myself...

Hope Mrs Reb enjoyed her anniversary, too?

Where not to Tour!

Hi folks, just got back from Sri-Lanka and the Maldives. What beutiful places both of them. Would I like to tour Sri Lanka? Well we arrived fairly early in the morning and got a taxi to our hotel some hour and a half away. Never seen so many motorbikes holding so many people on them at once!

I am sure the only rules to driving there are if it's in front of you get past it anyway you can (Includes going tottally on the wrong side of the road at anytime) and the other one is once you have past whatever it was then forget about it even if it's still next to your back wheeel cos its now their job to avoid you. Absolute madness. Two adults and the two children all on one strugling little 125 or worse a moped of dubious make. Tuc-tucs, a sort of 3 wheeled lambreta with a cover over it carrying as many people as you can put inside carvind up anythiong in their way, I am told it's worse in India but somehow I really can't imagine it!

Still good to have been and glad to have survived. Don't think it's one of those places I would put on my list to tour around!
